Every time I turned around it was grey, when I looked up it was grey, when I saw myself in the mirror I was grey. This whole world is grey. People in my town kept protesting constantly about not having colour but there was nothing anyone could do but except the fact that we just have to move on. Every day i used to glance out my window from my tall, narrow apartment and stare at people's depressed looking down faces distracted from the real world and focused on the colourless world we live on. Even though I'm only 13 years old I wanted to make a change and fight for colour and happiness! I tried my best but no one listened to me. Suddenly when I woke up in the morning to go to school I saw a bright olive green peach tree sprouting out of the street waving its branches up and down. One at a time everything turned into colour. The whole town went outside to see what was going on (even people in their pyjamas) and soon began to smirk big bright smiles on ! their faces! It's a dream come true!

It was just a normal day, I was walking along the road to school. I met up with my friends Chelsea, Ruby and Morgan. We were happily chatting for ages. Its takes around half an hour for me to get to school. In the middle of my sentence I stopped, our suburb has been really plain no colour, nothing. In the middle of the road, was a bright green leaved tree. No one but us noticed it. Cars beeping people yelling and urging us to move. We couldn’t, this was amazing, no one else believed it. No one.
I was walking down the road with my headphones and when I spotted something out of the road a tree with a golden apple. All to myself so I took a really big bite as I home to sleep and I heard something I walk out of my apartment and heard everyone’s mind then I went back to sleep. I woke up and went outside as hovering on top of the city I went to scientist and he said I can hear everything minds of everyone so as I hear a help as I lifted Atlantis to be continued …
I’m looking around and all I see is a dark and lonely town. No kids running flowers on the widow seal just darkness, it feels like I'm drowning in sadness. Then I see a orange tree growing out of the ground and kids run from the house and dance around the tree! I take off my headphones and go to pick an orange form the tree but I can’t, the tree it’s not really there. I find my way back home and everything looks different not like the town I was in before. I go back and plant a seed.
The day the town turned grey was the day the trees disappeared. Well, technically they didn’t disappear but they died, all shriveled up and covered in goo. That was ten years ago, now I’m twelve and I’m determined to find out what happened to those trees. So as I trudged down the gloomy street, I remembered that Gramps used to work with trees when he was younger. So I started walking towards Gramps’ house. When I got there I could see him sitting there with the telly on. So I walked up the stairs and knocked on the door. RATA-TAT-TAT-TAT.
On safari in Africa there were a group of people who were miserable because they had been searching the whole day across the plains of the Savannah without spotting an animal. They decided to stop and eat a meat sandwich. A stealthy hyena emerged from a grey cave and climbed up a high tree sniffing the meat on the sandwiches. Being so excited to see the hyena, they threw some of the meat onto the ground, the hyena jumped down and scurried to get the meal. The hyena yelped with delight while it devoured the meat as the group cheered.
The moment I stepped into the town, Everdale, I knew this was where I belonged. It was colorless and bleak, like me, almost like I was in a colorless photograph. No one is happy though. Everyone's faces were locked in a frown. Suddenly, a peach tree started growing out of the road really fast. I looked around at everyones stunned faces, probably mirroring mine. Then I realized that this tree was not colorless, it was the complete opposite. The color from the tree started to spread untill the whole town was alive with color. The world was now worth smiling for.
